We recently transformed and carried out a Leaher Repair on a scratched and worn Leather steering wheel out of a Volvo XC40 at our #DetailingStudio. The results were incredible, and the customer was thrilled!

Customer Consultation:

Upon arrival, we explained the customer’s options: a costly new steering wheel, a bulky aftermarket cover, or a professional leather repair and refresh using top-of-the-line Geist Leathercare products. Leather Repair Process:

Here’s a glimpse into the meticulous process behind our leather repair services:

1. Deep Clean prior to the Leather repair on any steering wheel: 

First, we meticulously cleaned the entire leather surface with Geist Leather care products, ensuring a spotless and contaminant-free base for the repair.

2. Precise Masking:

Next, we applied masking tape to isolate the damaged area, protecting the surrounding “healthy” leather from potential sanding or prep work mishaps.

3. Gentle Sanding:

A gentle sanding of the surface is carried out to level down the surface and remove loose debri that would be in the way of the Leather repair.

4. Filling and Smoothing:

We carefully filled the most affected areas to even out the high and low spots on the leather.

5. Chemical Sanding and Filling:

Through a meticulous process of chemical sanding and leather filler application, we brought the surface texture as close as possible to the original, factory-made finish.

6. Colour matching and Painting to ensure a perfect Leather repair on any Steering wheel:

We expertly mixed the correct leather paint color to perfectly match the rest of the steering wheel. After applying the paint, we used a top coat (similar to car paint) to protect the finish, reduce shine, and achieve a uniform appearance.
